A Donor Bill of Rights

Philanthropy is based on voluntary action exercised for the common good of society as a whole or a particular section of the society. To ensure that A Vintage Affair Foundation merits the respect and trust of the general public, donors and prospective donors can have full confidence in the Foundation and causes the Foundation supports through the use of donations, we declare that all donors have these rights:

ARTICLE I.

To be informed of the Foundation’s mission, of the way the Foundation intends to use donated resources, and how the donations have been spent.

ARTICLE II.

To be informed of the identity of those serving on the Foundation’s Board of Directors, and to expect the Board to exercise prudent judgment in its stewardship responsibilities.

ARTICLE III.

To be assured their donations will be used for the purposes for which they were given by the donor.

ARTICLE IV.

To be assured that information about donor’s donations will be handled with respect and with confidentiality to the extent provided by law.

ARTICLE V.

To receive appropriate acknowledgement and recognition and timely and courteous response to your inquiries and the programs that the Foundation supports.

ARTICLE VI.

To have the opportunity for their names to be deleted from any contact list that the Foundation uses to seek support for its programs and events.

ARTICLE VII.

To have access to the Foundation’s most recent financial statements.

ARTICLE VIII.

To be assured that there is a responsible Board of Directors providing oversight to the Foundation’s activities and missions.
